Ansel Adams

There is stunning silence in this photograph. Spring is here. And with it untold changes. I am looking forward to some of them, despite the sometimes overwhelming emotional waves that wash over me when season's change.

It doesn't always happen. It didn't happen last year, as days slipped into weeks into months whose passing meant nothing. It's impossibe to know how long life will continue on in this purgatory, or whether any of us will emerge having learned anything.

I have learned patience and faith or at least relearned the value of both.

I have known this for a while, and watched the steady decline since 2008, but the idea of social media being a form of utopian communication continues to be disproven every day.

If anything, social media is the Tower of Babel. The difference is that we're still building the tower and climbing it, even though we're divided.

It's the worst drug ever.
