Modest Mouse: We Are Between
The video reminds me of a short story by Gene Wolfe where everyone lives in cars. Really liking this track.
The band has evolved a lot since "This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about." Much more tighter, melodic songwriting. And this track is much closer to "We were dead before the ship even sank," in that regard.
I hate the word "minstream," as it comes across as being a pejorative. And I don't mean it like that. Accessible is probably a better way to say it. Maybe it's just creative growth in a different direction. or better yet, maybe the audience caught up to Brock and company.
I'd post the video for for some reason Modest Mouse won't let me, so I guess you can watch it here. Maybe they want the clicks.
