Under Chartreuse Skies
I swear there is no filter. Such is the sickly haze and pollution from fires that have burned two million acres in California. The fact that the first fire started as the result of a gender reveal party stunt pretty much sums up everything wrong with this horrific state.
The Mayor of Los Angeles implored us all during this heatwave to make sure we turned our AC off for the environment. I guess he's forgotten that half the city as been closed for the past seven months. He also forgot that in addition to COVID, excessive heat takes their toll on the elderly.
California is the definition of insanity. And this yellow cloud is a threnody for it. A literal headache-causing reminder.
On the plus side, the black watch (a criminally underrated band) has a new album out.
Tricky does, too. And it's really good but also really sad considering it was written in the aftermath of his daughter's suicide. Grief is always hard to listen to, especially now. But the production is interesting in that it is both murky and sparse. And the songs are great even though they are all short.
I'm not kidding about the headache.
